The difference between stainless steel 316 and 316L:

1，Molybdenum 316L stainless steel is slightly higher than 316 stainless steel

2，The upper limit of C content of 316 is 0.08%, and the upper limit of C content of 316L is 0.03%. The higher the C content, the more likely it is to cause intergranular corrosion.

3，The lower limit of tensile and yield strength of 316 is 515 and 205 MPa and the lower limits of tensile and yield strength of 316L are 485 and 170 MPa.

4,In the range of 800-1575 degrees, it isn't preferable to continuously apply 316 stainless steel. But when 316 stainless steel is continuously used outside this temperature range, the stainless steel has good heat resistance. The carbide resistance of 316L stainless steel is better than 316 stainless steel.
